Wisteria floribunda Black Dragon 

Wisteria floribunda Black Dragon  (also known as Wisteria floribunda Violacea Plena,Wisteria floribunda 'Yae-Kokuryu') has violet purple, pea-like double flowers that hang on long racemes in summer. Pinnate foliage emerges bronze in spring, maturing to bright green then buttery yellow in autumn.

It  has purple flowers blooming along 12-20 inch racemes. Popular, aggressive, flowering vine. Pinnate leaves with up to 19 lance-shaped leaflets up to 3 inches long. Top choice for covering arbors or spilling over fences. Blooms and leafs out in late spring. Flowering not as spectacular as Chinese Wisteria due to prolonged season of bloom. Can become quite large. Twines from right to left.

Wisteria Double Black Dragon

Ideal for growing against a wall or over a pergola, Wisteria Black Dragon can grow to 8 x 5 metres in 20 years or kept smaller. It prefers moist but well drained soil and a position in full sun, though dappled shade will be tolerated. This Double Purple Wisteria plant is a beautiful variety, offering great seasonal interest.
